Applications stealing Spaces focus

On multiple occasions I have had OmniOutliner open on one space and another program open the current space (usually Safari) and, while I'm working on the current space, OmniOutliner will steal the focus and switch to its space automatically, sometimes occurring multiple times per session. I cannot figure out why. Anyone else experiencing similar activity or know any fixes? So far I've only seen it happen w/ omni.
