Sometimes, applications won't launch, they would sit in the Dock saying the application is unresponsive. The only way to get them to launch is to disconnect my Mac from my WiFi. After that the application would launch normally. I also have this issue with some websites in Chrome and Safari.
Also when I log in on my Mac. Turning off the WiFi on my router usually helps in that situation also.
