Applications wouldnt open / start

Recentyly my applications "sometimes" wouldnt open the item will bounce on the dock for a sec or two then vanish. I realized that I have to log out and then log in back again to get it to work. What could be the problem?

Well I have a Macbook, Mac OS X and after working for sometime on my computer I can get any relatively big apps to start like:- office, toast 7,Adobe photoshop etc.

Hrm....are you running the universal binary version of Toast?

And here's an important one... have you run monolingual lately?

Uhm I dont really know about the binary thing and about the multi lingual thing ... Im not sure... how do you check it
