I understand how to set up Smart Search folders in OSX, but how do I get to apply a search on a specific folder?

For instance: press CMD-F in the Finder which allows me to search "This Mac" or the place I'm currently in and define the search pattern; for example search for all files created within the past 2 days, then save it.
So what if I want to apply that search pattern but within a specific folder or a specific drive only? Do I have to create a new (or modify the existing) Smart Search, or is there some way I can tell it to search in a new place?
