So M4 Mini, never expected to need more than what I got for internal storage (1T) so I am adding an external drive because I very much do need more space. Decided to go with a 80gbs enclosure and a 990 Pro Samsung NVMe (future proof, I see a M5 Pro Mini in my future). Acasis, very impressed so far, get 3k+ read and write on the TB4 ports on the back. As I know those NVMes can run pretty hot, the Acasis does have a VERY quite fan. BUT I really do want to have some thermal pads in there. It came with self-adhesive pads but I got some thicker silicon pads that have no adhesive. My question is, what thickness of pad to use (I have 0.5, 1 and 1.5 mm pads)? In other words, at what thickness does it become too much for the stick? I am concerned about going too far and damaging the stick, it cost me almost 200 bucks!
