Hello. I have a bunch of footage from my iPhone of me intervieiwng people on the street about various things.
Most interviews range from 5 - 50 minutes, and as you'd expect, there are lots of places where I need to edit things out.
This includes me talking when I shouldn't, people going off on tangents, possibly searing, and tons of Um's, Ur's, and so on!
I have been watching lots on YouTube about making videos and editing and transitions, but have only found one decent video showing me how to transition from one clip to the next.
In one detailed video using Adobe Premiere Pro, the person was editing out down to the word and using fancy filters to take a pretty rough video with the person Um'ing and Ur'ing and making a professional looking video.
The problem is that iMovie doesn't offer that level of control, and even if it did, that level of video editing is way above my level.
So I am hoping that you iMovie gurus can offer some strategies to helping me edit out things, or even just joining clips from a longer original video to create a more condensed video and make things flow naturally. (It's AMAZING how many videos exist on YouTube claiming to be expert videos on editing, and the dummies creating these videos cannot even master what I am asking about here?!)
It would be cool to learn how to add B-film and music and all that fancy stuff, but for my purposes now, I just want to take these man-on-the-street videos, edit them to get the good content,e dit out distractions, and make a single video that looks like I shot it perfect the first time. Video only. No B-clips or other window dressing.
Thanks.
