As I am typing this thread Mac Rumors stands at 2,917,540 posts, according to the famous Forum Spy.
Considering we were at 2,800,000 about a month ago, the celebrations could be starting up soon, 3,000,000 on Halloween anyone?

Congrats Mac Rumors for reaching 2.9 million and onto 3 million! :)

Last post on SpyRumors was 2917545, then it skipped to 2917547? Talk about post inflation! :)

Sometimes it's called the 'contribution' forum post, us normal people can't see those ones.:)
In this case it wasn't though.

That's so many zeroes that it's almost beyond human comprehension. What's that, three quadrillion? Three hetptillion? Three jillion?

well atleast if each of us would get one.$ for each post (as in 3million each) it would be the numbers listed! weee

alas also hyper inflation, which isn't as fun :(
But if e're quick we'll get a lot of macs before the effects of said inflation will occur :)

Silly me, I had the marketplace and politics forum blocked in SpyRumors. :)

Is there going to be another avatar contest organised for this milestone? They're always good fun. :)
I hope so. Now that i have been around for around 6 months, i might actually recognise some of the avatars.

A bit of an update:

MacRumors: 2,941,608 posts right now

From 2.93 million - 2.94 million took 2.5 days :eek:

At that rate, 3 million should happen on October 27.

Actually I think that's known as a Google. (Or is that Googol?) :D
I thought a google was 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or is that a google plex??

googol = 10^100

googolplex = 10^googol

Ackermann(1,n) = n+2
AckermannA(k,1) = 2 for k>1
AckermannA(k,n) = A(k-1,A(k,n-1)) for k>1 and n>1

The exercise of computing Ackermann(googolplex,googol) is left to the reader.

I assume you mean

googulplex = 10^googul ?
Yes, oops, sorry. I shouldn't have stayed up so late typing when my brain was already asleep! I fixed my post above to I don't confuse anybody who comes to it, but I admit I goofed. And it wasn't my first goof yesterday either. :eek:

Hmm...I've never seen it spelled "googul," only "googol." Is the "u" acceptable?
