I just migrated my old iMac to a brand new one. Lots of applications are now doubled in the Applications Folder, the copy being named "xxx (from old Mac)".
Can I delete these copies without problems?

Yea, you only need one application file to run the application; for most however, the data is stored in folders/files in the hard drive. What I would do , however, is to launch applications that might have their own files (games, browsers, etc. and NOT Word, Excel, Torrent) and make sure the files are there.

If the files are there, you can delete the other one :)

It might take a while depending on the applications but this would ensure you have everything you need.
