hi all, new to ipad. getting used to garageband. have looked at a few music apps for ipad. can these be used in garageband and if so how?

I am afraid I don't know the answer to your question.
 
Do you mean use them like instruments or plug ins? No, I don't believe garage band allows that yet.

Check out the app called Tabletop. I'm quite into that as well for music prodction. There's loads of different plug in and instruments for it too and growing all the time.
 
How about a SynthStation 49 for the iPad...

here's a list of apps that support "audiocopy/audiopaste" (here here)

this allows you to copy the audio files from those apps into garageband.
 
The Best

Music app I have found for iPad is Amplitube. Pro quality sound modelling and all interfaces with amps, mixing desk etc.

You need a small add on called an irig which allows you to connect your bass, lead keyboard to your iPad.

You can also use it on stage. An excellent app all round.
