Apps from iPod Touch to new iPhone?

I'm sure this has already been covered, but I can't find it.
I am looking to get a 3G iPhone and already have a 2G Touch.

I've read they can both be synched to the same iTunes, does that mean the apps I have already purchased can also be synched to the iPhone without buying them again?

for future reference it's spelt synced, there's no h.
