Apps/Games for 1st Gen iPod Touch

I was given an original iPod Touch that I want to give to a needy friend. But it seems the OS (3.1.3) is incompatible with most, if not all, apps.

Does anybody know of any games or other apps I can install on it? Or any way to find any?
