Apps Keep Appearing

In the General section of the Apple Watch app, I have Automatic Updates disabled. I have also painstakingly removed apps that I do not want on the watch. The Uninstall process for each app is timely, so this has become an annoyance. It seems that whenever an app is updated its automatically added back to the Apple Watch. Worse is every so often one that was manually uninstalled will get a corrupt icon on the watch. I've tried resetting both the iPhone and Watch several times which has broken several Activity streaks

Anyone else notice this?

Is there a fix?

P.S.
I also have to remain on the app screen to wait for the uninstall to finish,,, otherwise it cancels?!?!?!?!

It's a bug which has been already noted in other threads. I've found deleting the apps from the watch is much quicker than uninstalling them using the iPhone apple watch app.
