apps lose settings after updates

maybe it's just me but it appears all my apps lose any saved data when updated short of the ones which use a preference pane.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, i had aurora feint and was really far in it. I updated the app and it reset everything. I have to start over which sucks. Theres no way to go back to the old version.
