Apps not showing up in iTunes when syncing iPhone

Having the most frustrating problem today with my 3G iPhone... I've got 48 apps that show up in the applications window of iTunes, and have had them on my phone for months. Today, when I went to sync my phone, only 8 of them are listed in the "applications" tab of iTunes' phone sync. I've combed the forums and can't find anything that works-- I've tried transferring purchases, but they were all bought in iTunes, so nothing happened... I've tried restoring the phone, and nothing changed.

Any thoughts?
