Anyone else? I have now noticed that two different apps have recently reported that they were in the background or onscreen and consuming battery when they should not have been. This is an intermittent issue.... does not happen all the time.
Instance 1
I have an app that lets me control my ham radio from my phone over LAN or WAN. According to the developer, it is not registered as a background app so it should only remain running in the background while producing audio after being dismissed. However, once or twice I have noticed that my battery drained much faster than normal while in standby and this last time, the battery settings page reported the app was in the background for 6+ hours. This should not be possible. I had disconnected the radio, the app was NOT producing audio, the app was dismissed back to the home page and the phone was asleep either in my pocket or on the charge stand.
Instance 2
Just this morning, I noticed that the battery page is reporting that Messages was on screen for 3 hours 32 minutes "longer than usual" last Monday. This makes no sense. While I may have looked at Messages once or twice that day, Messages was onscreen no more than a couple minutes. The rest of the time, the phone was asleep. And even if it did manage to activate in my pocket, the screen times out in three minutes.
Anyone else? Perhaps this could account for some people experiencing mysterious rapid battery drain?
