a speed counter for download speed over internet connection would be very useful.

well for youtube, web browsing, installer and such

Youtube you just stream the media. Installer downloads so fast because apps are so small. I guess the only thing it could show you is how fast a web page loads but im not sure if thats enough incentive for someone to write a program for that.
