Apps won't start at startup...

Maybe I'm confusing what is going on here.....

I downloaded smcFanControl and Caffeine last night, setting them both to start up at login, but each time I boot my computer up now they don't load and I have to manually open them. This is my first mac (MBP - 1 week old today!), so am I doing anything wrong? What should I do?

Is "turn on this app when you log in" still on?? Maybe somehow it got shut off. Just a thought.

Every time I reboot the computer, and manually turn on the apps, I have checked that and it is still on. That's what I don't get.

What I also don't get is that Caffeine is now working.... lol. So now only smcFanControl doesn't start at startup.
