Many here keep mentioning an April 1 event celebrating 30 years. Does anyone have confirmation that this event will be happening?
Personally I have my doubts. After all nothing was down on the 25th anniversary.

who cares? It is a month away. And the last few events have been downers. Going to spend some more money on April 1? Waiting for a video ipod?

 April 1st is a Saturday and April Fools Day. Somehow I doubt it.

It's also the 30th anniversary of the incorporation of Apple. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started the company on April Fools Days because they thought it'd be funny. I have to think that at that point in time, neither of them were thinking that Apple was ever going to get as big as it did. Anyway, Steve Jobs specifically mentioned that April 1 would be the 30th anniversary of Apple at Macworld, and he hinted that they're planning on doing something for it. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear of an Apple media event that day. In fact, I'm hoping for the introduction of some completely new product.

However, as of yet, everything's speculation. Apple hasn't said anything official about what if anything they plan to do on that day.

He also said "see you again soon" at the end of yesterdays shindig, as he did at MWSF. I would hope if they have anything planned it won't be the same kind of liets invite 100 people to campus and show them what they've all been expecting. ;)

It will not happy Apple only announces things on Tuesday and Thursday

Not anymore, there have been major announcements on nearly every day of the week.

"Come celebrate Apple's 30th Birthday with Steve Jobs."

Perfect, right? Put it with a picture of a cake, and debut the Intel iBook plus other goodies we've been waiting for, such as a Movie Store. Do it a few days before or after April 1st if necessary.

They'll roll out a big novelty cake on stage, sing happy birthday and Bill Gates jumps out at the end. Everyone boos. Then Steve will fly in held by suspension cables from the ceiling, swooping across the audience holding the new Macbook under one arm, and the ultra sleek MacPro Tower under the other arm. "We've completed the transition early!!" Everyone cheers.

You heard it here first.
