I heard it had been put back to Monday as you can't have April Fools day on a Sunday.

That's correct. April Fool's Day is now celebrated the first Monday in April to honor President George Bush. It was the final act of the Republican controlled Congress last December. Now a federal holiday, there will be no mail delivery, government offices are closed and banks have the option of closing.
