Smart home company Aqara's G410 video doorbell, which is Matter-compatible and supports Apple's HomeKit Secure Video, is now available to buy.

Announced in January, the Doorbell Camera Hub G410 introduces several notable upgrades, including a 2K resolution sensor for sharper video, a 175-degree field of view, and built-in mmWave presence detection to reduce false alerts.

The G410 also supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Thread, and HomeKit Secure Video, as well as options for secure storage via iCloud, local microSD, or NAS. It's ready for both battery-powered and wired setups.

The Aqara G410 video doorbell can be purchased on the Aqara website for $129.99 or through on-line merchants such as Amazon. We'll have a full review of the product soon.

Aqara today also announced the global availability of the Camera G100 ($34.99) and availability in the U.S of the Dimmer Switch H2 ($54.99) with Thread and Zigbee support.

The Camera G100 is a compact indoor/outdoor security camera offering 2K video, IP65 weather resistance, and a built-in spotlight for colour night vision.

It supports 24/7 monitoring and integrates with Apple Home (HomeKit Secure Video), Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and RTSP-compatible platforms. Footage can be stored locally via microSD or NAS, while Aqara's cloud storage is end-to-end encrypted.

Lastly, the H2 is a smart dimmer switch for traditional dimmable lighting, designed to work with or without a neutral wire for broader installation compatibility. It supports both Thread and Zigbee, and its Matter integration enables seamless use with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey.

Like Aqara's G410 video doorbell, the Camera G100 and H2 smart dimmer switch are available to buy directly from Aqara or other online merchants.

I'd love a peephole version of this. Ring is probably the last one so far (via Scrypted/Homebridge) 🤔 I might have to play a bit with some lesser known like EZVIZ if Ring dies or re-buy used/NOS one.

Any third party sample videos? I use Eufy right now and it's fine, but I'm always willing to upgrade if something better comes along.

I have the Aqara G4 doorbell and have had it for a few years now I think. It's pretty good! I don't have mine wired (yet) so I got rechargeable batteries for it, but it is handy to have and works nicely.

Hopefully they fixed the hardwire terminals - tiny tiny screws making its install difficult.. a thru wire insert method would be much easier for installing. All and all I have been happy with mine. Just wish my other items like eve were seamless..nothing is in this zoo of smart home standards.

Camera G100 = USB C power only, no battery, no solar charging.
It's not really a convenient "outdoor" camera.

But it can be much more convenient in some other situations. For people who want a fully-wired basic camera of some type, the Aqara G100 is going to be a great replacement for the Logitech Circle View Cameras, which are astonishingly unreliable and overpriced. Perfect drop-in replacement! (for the few Logitech Circle View Cameras of mine that haven’t already completely died, I’ll be replacing them with these as soon as I can get them)

Plus they have the color night mode that some of the other Aqara cameras have. Seems pretty good for the price.

Two compelling reasons I went with Aqara's last model was storage option in the ringer, or option to use secure iCloud storage. I think most others had some sort of monthly service charge.
I have it hardwired, and no issue, just needed to be careful with the height placement. I can see people's face, but unfortunately lose visibility of my porch.
Given the homekit compatibility, its been nice having this work on all the apple devices in the house.
Will I buy this updated version with Matter support? No.

Holy Apple Newton, Batman. That doorbell is HUGE!

Well, this will probably sound like a strange focus for shopping doorbells - but the operating temperature spec of the Aqara is actually way better than Google’s doorbell. My home and front door face the southwest, so I’ve managed to overcook a few doorbells in my time at the current address. Might have to give Aqara a try at some point.

Google Nest doorbell (both wired and battery versions) = -4 °F (-20 °C), or no higher than 104 °F (40 °C)
Aqara Doorbell (Main Unit): -18°C ~ +50°C (0°F ~ 122°F)

If that doorbell won't overheat in the sun, I'll be mighty tempted. My current one overheats constantly. Direct afternoon sun will do that, I guess.

They just pre-emptively aligned their design with the Liquid Glass style introduced in iOS 26. 😄

But you're definitely not alone with the temperature issues. I've read/heard that from a lot of people. I think your gripe and mine (the lack of peephole doorbell cameras) might be related. Outdoors is rough on electronics and batteries, with both extreme heat and cold. Peephole-style devices could help if they kept the most important parts inside.

Can it use an existing wired chime?

UPDATE 2025-07-11

Answer from Aqara Technical Support email:

The G410 doorbell relies on the Wi-Fi signal forwarded by its chime repeater to connect, and is bound one-to-one with its chime repeater before leaving the factory.
Users cannot unbind it by themselves or cannot remove the chime repeater for use.

I've been pretty happy with the logi circle view doorbell ever since the firmware update which prevented the overheating issues. This one looks even better and somehow significantly cheaper too. Nice to have more competition in this space!

Of course like 2 months after I set up the older model doorbell lol

It’s been super solid FWIW, for anyone looking I’d def recommend aqara. I set it up for homekit, and then blocked egress on my firewall just to be sure the only external access to the feed/recordings was homekit/HKSV, been working great since :)

A switch costing 50% more than a camera?? Curious what components cost so much. Also curious on camera quality compared to G5.

My bet would be less component cost and more testing and certification costs. Also probably a scale thing, the R&D cost for the cameras is probably already spread out over both existing sales and a broader swath of sales for it than they expect a new line to have initially. Also probably a bigger marketing push for the new product, etc.
