Hello, I have a Aquos 32 HDTV, 768, not 1080. I am using a dvi/hdmi converter, and have the display set at 1920x1080 60hz, and the macbook's display is off, using the USB trick.

This gives me a bigger desktop but the horizontal lines are shaky/squiggly. Is there a way to get 1080p with this set up? How can I make the horizontal lines hold still and stop fidgeting?
thanks,

I connect to my Aquos 1080p with the DVI to HDMI cable. The quality is decent thought the colors are a bit off.

To the OP, I would see if you can find a forum specific to HDTVs.

1920 x 1080 = 1080p

The settings you're using are trying to force your non-1080p set to display 1080p - thus the issues you're having. Set your output to the native resolution of the set and you will have the best possible picture. Trying to force your screen to display 2x more pixels than it actually has will degrade the image...
