I plan on buying tiger the day its out but I hate the aqua stripes. is there an app that removes them that will work on tiger? I would rather stay away from theme apps and themes. there was an app like this at one time for panther but I forget the name.

if by stripes, you mean the Jaguar-style stripes, you'll be glad to note that that style is almost completely gone from tiger.

theming utilities probably won't be ready for use immediately, but if aqua stripes are your concern, you can use tiger safely :p

from the few screenshots of tiger i've seen it looks like tiger has the same stripes as panther. I want those gone. using panther at the moment with themechanger running the smooth stripes theme.

Tiger removes MOST stripes.

However, I think Apple considers the stripes in like Controls, like Display for example, not "stripes" as much as a fundamental part of the OS.

In OS X 10, the stripes will never be fully gone

This is extremely compulsive... you may want to see a doctor if this kind of mindset continues.

The strips are so faint in Panther and Tiger.

thanks for the advice doc..

Taking the System Preferences as an example, I think it'd look really quite weird if it was just a plain colour like, say... the massive amount of blue that is the Windows XP Control Panel. The solid colour's a just a little too overbearing for my liking. I'm a fan of the subtle stripes. :D
