I downloaded Aquisition a couple weeks ago and everytime i download something it only goes like 9kb then drops to like 2kbs and so on and it takes forever, any tips on how to speed it up?

Try Limewire or another client and see if the problem persists. If it does, then your ISP may be throttling Peer to Peer traffic.
No! Don't use limewire! That program is just asking for trouble. Instead, I recommend Cabos (http://cabos.sourceforge.jp/).
It's slightly better, but not as good as it was on my old Windows, which was like 30-50kbs.
