Hi all,

A quick question (actually from my sister in law)...

She would like to cancel her dot-mac account but retain her old emails, in apple/mac mail if possible, but at least as text.

Is there a simple way for her to do this?

Thanks,
BB

In Mail->Preferences->Accounts->.Mac->Advanced, make sure "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing" is set to "All messages and their attachments". That should ensure all of her emails are stored on her Mac. Then - assuming all of her mail has been downloaded to her Mac, which'll take a sec if she didn't have that checked before - create a new folder in Mail and move all of her .Mac mail there. Then uncheck "Include when automatically checking for new email" before canceling the account, and, for good measure, go to the Mail folder in her user account's Library folder and archive it.
