archived mail showing as "Recovered"

when I archive mail from the inbox in Apple Mail the message goes into the Archive folder, but it also goes into a folder On My Mac "Recovered Messages"

anyone else having this problem ??
 
This is happening to me right now with two of my email accounts. I can delete the folders but they come back the next time I get mail from them.
