Don't know if this is a new thing for MAIL in OSX 10.9.4 although I have had it now for a few months, or if it is something i am doing in my settings incorrectly but its driving me crazy.
I delete mail and don't want any reference to it but it seems to be archived.
I have to run about 12 email addressees thorough my Mail software so not sure if it is a quirk doing it or something new to Mail.
Here are the settings I have done in case someone sees something I don't?
Drafts: I don't store messages on the server and the box is left unchecked
Sent: I don't store sent messages on he folder so the box is left unchecked, plus I had Delete sent messages set for Never but just changed that to one week old, but i don't think that created the archive folder
Junk: I don't have it checked to store junk on the server either and i have it clicked to delete it when quitting mail
Trash: I have it set to move Trash to the Deleted Folder. Its not stored on the server and its clicked to permanently erase deleted messages when I exit Mail
I can't think of what else it might be but I see messages in there I deleted i believe, months ago. How do I get rid of it?
Since i also run several Gmail addresses though it, I have looked at their settings and cannot find anything that warrants this. All I see is below but I have the IMAP set on Auto-Expunge off
When I mark a message in IMAP as deleted:
Auto-Expunge on - Immediately update the server. (default)
Auto-Expunge off - Wait for the client to update the server.
When a message is marked as deleted and expunged from the last visible IMAP folder:
Archive the message (default)
Move the message to the Trash
Immediately delete the message forever
It offers me an archive the message (default) but since i don't do that, I don't see why it is archiving?
I don't like to keep old emails, i just want them to goooooo far away ;-)
And IF that is whats causing it, any idea how to stop it?
Thank you
I should add that I do use Mailplane 3 but I haven't liked it as much with the latest changes so i don't want to take any Gmail accounts out to MAIL and only run them from Mailplane 3 if I can help it?
