OK, here is my situation:

I have a bunch of Macs which are bound to my Active Directory (I have mostly PCs)... We want to manage the Macs using Apple Remote Desktop... I was told by Apple Support that you could create a Group called ard_admin which would automatically have access to administer the Macs. Anyone had this work? Does anyone use Remote Desktop 3.4?

You have to enable Directory Based Administration.

You can do this with a custom ARD package or ARDs kickstart.

Code:
/System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/kickstart -configure -clientopts -setdirlogins -dirlogins yes

Just so we have it here for the next guy googling it.
