So in my search for a door to the G5 DP 2.0 (PowerMac 7,2) I got an offer for two other G5. These are one generation newer (7,3), a 1.8 MHz and a 2.5 MHz, both DP.

Now my question: Are all the 2.5 MHz DP PCI-X fitted with liquid cooling?

The seller submitted me two pictures. What is interesting: I see a stain which could be from a leaking cooling system, but it is in the picture of the 1.8 MHz case, not the 2.5 MHz.

What to look for? How do I see if the leak was repaired and how to identify if the original system was replaced by with the improved one?

All PowerMac7,3 (Mid 2004) DP 2,5Ghz have LCS. It was the very first LCS released and not very reliable.
Like every other LCS ... it need maintenance. It will leak, just a matter of time.

To check if someone already serviced the CPU/LCS area of that 7,3 DP 2,5Ghz by pictures, I would take a look if the white little plasic plug on top of the G5 CPU area aluminium lid [near the GPU] looks broken or even removed entirely.-> Then you can be sure someone opened that lid already.

All DP 1.8 no matter if 7,2 or 7,3(2004) should have air cooling.

Maybe the seller just swapped the plasic shield between both and didnt check for stain. Afterwards it flowed more downwards to the machine label.

At the moment I have only the pictures, but I can inspect the computers in person before buying. Sorry I have not mentioned that.

All dual 2.5s, dual 2.7s, and Quad 2.5s were liquid cooled from the factory.

The dual 2.5s have a bad reputation. Many 2.7s are fine, and Quads are generally fine.
