If you have a tmobile and att iPhone 5 and if you exchange it through 1 year warranty with Apple, does the refurbished iPhone 5 1 gsm model both compatible with both carriers AT&T/Tmobile with LTE bands? Thx

You are asking 2 different questions.

1. As for it being unlocked. If phone was unlocked than they should give u an unlocked replacement. If it's locked than u get a locked replacement.

2. Hit or miss if u get the "new A1428" model that has updated 1700/2100 baseband enabled. There are no guarantees unless u originally purchased ur phone with the 1700/2100 baseband enabled after April 12 2013.

You can use this website from Apple support site will verify if your replacement has T-Mobile bands.
