I have owned a few iphones in the past
and I remember even though my iphone 4S could do both GSM and CDMA, the firmware was locked by verizon
so it could only do GSM internationally
and I could not activate it on ATT

but I heard this issue was fixed on iphone 6 and SE?
so as long as the phone is reformatted, you can purchase it from any carrier and unlock it to any carrier?
and it will automatically switch to CDMA?

basically I want to use an iphone SE on verizon (CDMA) but next year switch back to t-mobile (GSM)
I am working on site and there is no cell reception here other than verizon and the have a huge network up in west NY

As long as the phone is unlocked you should be all set.
