I'm thinking of moving from an 8+ to a 11 Pro Max, and I'm trying to talk myself out of it.

One thing that would annoy me is if there are still apps that are not yet natively designed for the Max size and shape screen.

Are they?

Most apps support it.

Notch support has been mandatory for all app updates since April 2018.

Support for “Max” screen will become mandatory from April 2020.

Given how slow dev goes on updating their apps to adapt to Plus size screen, I don’t see this coming anytime soon, and certainly not “almost all apps”. Major ones Have been optimised from day one. Any other is a mixed bag. So, notch compatibility is not guaranteed, except major apps (YouTube twitter For example).
