Just thinking out loud here, but since my iMac G5 (iSight) has 128 MB graphics card, and so does the baseline MBP, would the graphics be almost the same? THanks for any input!

Absolutely not. The graphics chipset in the current baseline MBP is roughly 5 times faster than the one found in the iMac G5 with iSight (Geforce 8600M GT and X600 Pro, respectively), despite having the same amount of memory available to them.

This is a very common misconception about graphics cards. Having the same amount of graphics memory doesn't not mean similar performance. It all depends on the graphics chip itself. :)
