Just curious if they're processing tomorrow or not, or if things are going to be on pause. Did they do it for iPhone orders?

These kinds of operations are 24/7. People don't seem to understand the scope of logistics. While UPS may not make deliveries on Sundau, planes still fly and all distribution centers are still running around the clock.

The same goes for Apple. It's a non-stop effort.

This is correct! These plants in China and such don't stop a minute. FedEx and UPS fly over every day, they just don't do the deliveries.

Yup stuff will be moving even on a Sunday. I usually don't see statues updates on items until later in they day thought on Sundays.

If anything, today looks like the slower day. Only one flight into Alaska and it wasn't even from sczheiun that landed 2 hours ago(excuse my spelling). I am not seeing any credit card charges, so I am assuming they didn't have watches on them.

The trucks may not deliver on Sundays, but packages don't pause for a day. I got my shipping notification this morning (saturday) and UPS confirmation for Next Day Air Saver from TN to CA for Monday delivery.

Thank you all for your input, I'm glad to hear it and hope a charge will come soon. And that's awesome dacreativeguy, have fun!

I would like to think they are working 24-7 behind the scenes. But in reality, no one knows what is happening this weekend. To bad we don't have someone working for UPS that posts here.

6 flights are inbound to TN over the next 10 hours with 2 currently in the air. We also have 4 inbound to AK at the moment which I suspect will feed a number of new TN bound flights in the morning. I've noticed for every 1 flight coming into AK, we tend to have 3 to 4 outbound to TN.

First how do you guys even know this? And second, how do you know it would even be :apple: related? lol

I work for UPS in as a manager in Preload and I've been posting here plenty. My staff (and me) do not work weekends and the same applies for the majority of drivers. The only exception to that are the Saturday drivers. We will not be in again until Monday; 2am for me and 430 for my loaders to have 40 package cars, 5 bulk vans and four 53 foot rigs loaded in 4.5 hours. After that I'll be picking up my own watch on the way out the door.

People here are correct. We don't all work weekends but we do have employees who are moving packages to centers everywhere for Monday morning's sort.

Good to know!

Thanks for the info. On your experience, can we expect some prepare for shipment statuses and shipped Sunday?

I can't speak to what Apple will be doing but UPS is always moving something. As an example for my Monday processing we don't have to wait for any trucks to deliver to my hub as everything going out has come to the building over the weekend. Ordinarily the trailers come in throughout the shift, we unload and sort/load for delivery as fast as we get them. So any watches going out for delivery Monday have come to the building over the weekend and are waiting for my crew when we walk in.

It would make sense that Apple is moving stuff out 24/7 to get past the backlog but I know nothing for fact. That much is out of my realm of knowledge

The better question at this point is whether any statuses will change on Sunday. If not I may just check in on you guys tomorrow.

Nope. UPS trucks received on Sunday are logged in, but they're not cracked open until tomorrow. When we open them and start scanning packages (there's two to four people scanning them as they come off) that's when the tracking information updates.

Load/Unload doesn't work today, so there won't be any activity on your UPS tracking page.

All I know is my watch is sitting in my local hub exactly 1 mile from my house on hold for me to pickup tomorrow at 9am, I will be there at 8:50 am. :)
