Are beta testers automatically developers?

I was going to try the triple-click trick to activate IOS5 and then found out I didn't need to -- it worked as soon as I installed it.
I was a beta tester for an app in the past and I did have to provide my UDID so does that make me an authorized developer for all things IOS?
Will I remain authorized as long as the developer I beta-tested for maintains his account or will my UDID get purged at some point?
Is there a way to check the status of theses things?
