are Favorites, Devices, and Shared supposed to be gray?

In a window panel, is the sidebar supposed to be entirely gray? If I select "Go" from the menu bar, these icons are colored.

Is something wrong on my end or does Apple think that desaturated icons look good?

They think it "emplasizes content." silly Apple, the dropbox folder in my sidebar is my content.
