I use a pair of original HomePods with my Mac to stream Apple Music, but despite all the recent software updates, the "connection" from Mac to HomePod via Apple Music Airplay seems to stop working after a day or two. Only a reboot of Mac and/or HomePod will fix it.
During this time, I can still use Siri to ask the HomePods to play something, but its much easier via Music and I just prefer scrolling through my music to pick something.
This happens with my Mac Studio and my MBP, so I'm pretty confident the issue us with the HomePods. They've recently been completely reset and are on the latest OS, so I'm wondering if this is just a sign that they are on the road to failure? Or is this just something that's always been flaky?
Either way, are HomePod Minis any more reliable for streaming music with your Mac?
