Are iBook batteries hot-swappable?

I've heard that the PB's batteries are. I'll be using this iBook all day in class and may not have time (since I'd be missing notes and all) to shut down, swap and then boot back up again.

No, only the 15" and 17" Powerbooks are hot swappable. The iBooks and 12" Powerbook are not.

My Apple retailer told me that I could switch batteries on my 800MHz G3 iBook when it was sleeping. Never done it though, since I still only have the one battery.
