The title pretty much says it all. I have an iBook G4 with a logic board failure and a perfect screen, and an iBook G3 which is all working except the screen. Would it be possible to take the display out of the G4, and transplant it into the G3 (a.k.a are the connectors the same?). And FYI: they are both the 12.1-inch models.

Thanks!
Jack

Thanks! I'll give it a try, but I just don't want to have to shell out for a new (or even reconditioned) display. :D

I'm not sure about this, but if I were looking to do this I would check iFixit's guides to see if I could spot a picture of the LCD connectors for both models.

Apple has the bad habit of changing things between models. The connector was changed between the 1.67Ghz 17" PB and the 1.67Ghz 17" HR-DLSD PB. This is a CPU switch between models so I would be surprised if the connector is NOT different.
