Are new Airport Base Stations on the way?

In the UK, the Airport Extreme base sation is a 2-3 week wait on the Apple store and big stores like John Lewis have no stock.

On Appleinsider, there's a story about and Australian offer and a mention that potential buyers should wait. Is there any other news that suggests I should wait to get a new base station?

Maybe a new AirPort Express but that looks like it would only be for Australia according to AppleInsider.

I do wish Apple would revise the AirPort Extreme to have dual band capability.

I tried to pickup the Extreme at the weekend, none in PC World, John Lewis or Apple online, or in stores.....

Something must be going on i'm sure! Or as cynically mentioned to the sales guy at John Lewis, not shifting enough Time Capsules hey!
