you need to get one that shows the picture of the other side of the case. Because I'm not sure I was only looking at the 2G's, but there's like a ribbon connector on the back cover of the phone and the cheapest ones don't have that.

that video shows the taking apart for the battery replacement, but I think it shows you enough of the other side of the back cover to see what I'm talking about. You need to get the back covers on eBay that have those connectors that you see on the VERY last part of that video. I hope that made more sense to you. But I still have not done that before either.
 
I visited iFixit and there was a tutorial to remove the back case. The last instructions are to remove the switches, gps antenna, vitrator motor, etc.

For the person that went with the red case, did the replacement have to have all these cables pre-installed or just the back?
