Are the 2011 MacBook Pro's still shipping from China?

I know when they were first released they were all shipping from China, but if I ordered one now would it ship from anywhere nearer that might have a stock of them?

For e.g I ordered a 2010 model in February and that shipped from the UK.

I ordered mine at the start of the week, on Tuesday. It appears that they are still shipping from China. Hopefully i will get mine early next week. Cannot wait!

I ordered mine and it is being delivered to my student apartment, I hope it comes this week, otherwise I should have set delivery to my home address because I go home this Friday

i ordered mine on the 23/3/11 - a CTO 17" MBP 2.2, apple care, spec case, time capsule
-after 5 days still not shipped
-29/3/11 finally marked as shipped
-30/3/11 listed as in transit on UK site and @UK distribution centre on US site
i called apple at 1230 BST and asked re delivery, and they said est delivery is the 7/4/11 and the MBP had not arrived in the UK
-the MBP had been delivered to my apt concierge at 1200!

I was so happy to get my MBP could not be asked to raise the issue with apple why their tracking sucks so bad

You are correct.

I just received mine. It's the "Glow In The Dark" model.

Nice and warm to the touch, there's a beautiful contrast between it's glowing orange aluminum body and blue green back lit keyboard.

All my friends are so impressed

The factories are in China and most parts are coming from Asia so yes, they will be shipped from China. It doesn't matter if they're earlier versions, current version, next version, future versions, etc.

If you ordered a BTO, that's where it's coming from.

If you buy it off the shelves, that's also where they came from.
