Basically as the title says really.

Later this year, when I have the money, I'll be buying myself a Mac Pro. To start I'll be using my current PC's 19" LCD but really would like/need to get a decent screen for the Mac Pro, giving the 19" LCD back to my PC.

I already love the look, size, screen and bult-in iSight of the ACD and the extra USB ports are a nice bonus. However I haven't been able to find out much about it's speaker quality:confused:

I don't expect nor need fantastic quality speakers, they'll mostly be used for listening to music, watching video and the occasional bit of gaming. So are they of a reasonable good quality that will last?

The speakers are loud enough for most use cases, but don't expect miracles. They cannot compare to good 2.1 audio systems. Having said that, I prefer using them than my Harman Cardon speakers. I do not need the quality that the Harman Cardon has. I prefer saving the space for other things :)

Howbout...

Better than pretty much any other built-in monitor speakers out there...

Better than the cheap chintzy 19.99-49.99 external speakers calling themselves "computer speakers"...

Better than Bose Companion 2

Nowhere near something like the B&W MM-1 ($500) or Bose Computer MusicMonitor ($400) or even Bose Companion 3 or 5... (not really a Bose fan, but as "computer speakers" go, they're not bad...)

I use them all day most days. Good enough so that I don't have to have another two pieces of crap cluttering up my desk.
