Are the bands covered under AppleCare+ ?

I bought the stainless steel Apple watch with the black sport band. I also purchased AppleCare plus. Are the bands covered? If so, what if I buy a secondary band later on? Can I purchase AppleCare plus for that? If not, then I wish I would of purchased the more expensive band from the beginning because that one would be more worth the AppleCare?
