iPod touch Are the dimensions of the display the same on 1G & 2G?

Just wondering if the front glass is the same on both ipod touches...I like using the Powersupport crystal films and was wondering if the 1G films will fit the 2g touch exactly.

Just FYI, the iphone 3g has a slightly wider front glass panel than the original iphone so the crystal films for the old iphone leave a 1mm or so of the iphone 3g screen unprotected.

Hmm... I have an iPhone 3G and an iPod Touch 1G and according to my ruler the width is identical, down to the last millimeter... either way, if there is indeed a difference then I'm fairly certain the 2G is based on the iPhone 3G rather than the Touch 1G.

Does the glass really need protection? My iPod Touch is "naked", no case, no sleeve, no film, nada. I've had it for a year and it's seriously beat up, the back looks like Disney on Ice has used it for skating practice, but the glass is the one part that looks spanking new, not a single scratch (maybe microscopic ones, but none that the naked eye can spot).
