Are the DVD drives on the new Macbooks bad like on the old ones?

I used to have a 2007 white MacBook and I remember the DVD drives on those Macbooks used to break after a few uses.

Now I have other 2 Macbooks, so the question is how are the DVD drives on these 2 macbooks, I'm actually afraid of using them.
1. MacBook (White) Late 2009 2.26Ghz.
2. MacBook Pro Early 2011.

Never had a problem with any of my DVD drives, so from my experience, yes, they are fine

My 2010's MBP's optical drive is still going strong and to be honest, I've not seen any threads here detailing a consistent failure of the drives.

I used the optical on my 17" without any issues, and the buyer who now has it hasn't had any problems either....You should be fine.

My mid 2010 is stellar & remains one of my favorites. I've had every new PowerBook / MacBook Pro with a SuperDrive since 2002 & not one has been a problem.
