Seen a couple for the air, and then for the regular Mini, but none yet for the retina one.

Has anyone seen any? Also, I know Apple has some small discounts on Black Friday, do they usually hold discounts for newly released iPads?

If you can wait, refurbished mini retina coming due to inferior LCD screen.

The Target BF as states $75 gift card with any iPad mini. Now I suppose they could say it does not state iPad mini retina. But the $100 gift card for the larger iPads says it is good on any iPad including the iPad 2 and Air.

I would think Target will give you a $75 gift card with a mini purchase which is so good deal if you can get one.

Note the Target BF ad is already on their website under the "weekly ad" link.

The challenge is going to be finding any LTE models in stock. With the free TMobile data it's tough not to justify the extra cost for the cellular model over wifi only.

Just to add to this, Target may not even have any in stock at their B&M stores.

I haven't seen any Ipad mini retinas in stock at my local Targets. No Ipad Airs eithers. Who knows, maybe they are getting a ton more in stock by Thanksgiving...doubt it.

At our local targets we have airs but no retina minis though.

Like you, I highly doubt that they will "stock" them just for Black Friday. They are probably losing some money to entice ppl into their stores. The ad clearly states limited quantities. At least Walmart guarantees certain item to be available for at least 1 hour after open.

I think a good idea would be to buy an Open Box retina Mini from Best Buy in the specific configuration you want, and if it comes with any defects like a screen issue perhaps, take it to Apple and have them swap it out under your warranty since that is in-fact a warranty problem. :)

Buying Open Box can save you a considerable amount of money. I just helped my friend buy an iPad Mini Open Box in "good" condition for $199, when Best Buy was selling a brand new one for $299. The only problem was a minuscule speck on the back of the casing on the aluminum! Most Open Box products are bought then returned within a matter of days because people just don't want them anymore and they can't be sold as "new".

nope.

$299 for the Retina iPad Mini + $100 gift card?

its good but a little too good.

When SSpiro asked "Is walmarts deal for the retina?" he or she meant the $100 gift card as the deal, not the $299 price.

I'd like to know about this too, since Target already said the $75 gift card does apply to the retina mini (if you can find one on Black Friday)

Source? Because I called Apple mentioning this deal, and they said if the deal is true, then I can just take my receipt (from Apple) to an Apple Store (or call them) with proof of the deal, and they'll retroactively price match.

Where did Target say that?

Im also looking for a rentia mini deal (LTE version)
Looks like the best bet will be apple, though they have not stated any Black Friday deal, just that they will have deals on some items

can't find anyone else other than carriers having retina minis with LTE
Verizon has $100 off but you need to sign up for a min $40 for 2 years, which is $10 more than their month to month plan (this company is the worst!) you do get 2 gigs more a month though..
