Doing some housekeeping in backups and there are a lot of content creation project files i want to archive that i almost will never need again. they are currently backed up already but some have 2000-3000 files in them so archiving into one instead would save space and speed of reading from the big HDDs they are on. The build in free archive utility in MacOS isnt bad but i was wondering if there were any trusted/safe third party apps for mac that can compress even smaller, while still having stability and safety in mind in terms of corruption, errors, being able to decompress ages later.
