So I’ve been using Anker 5 and 6 port USB A chargers for a while now to charge all of my devices and they are super convenient. But as more and more things are moving to USB C I was looking to upgrade to a multiport USB C charger and was a bit surprised when I struggled to find anything. There are some chargers with 2 or maybe 3 USB C ports and maybe one or two USB A ports, but the only one I found with 5 USB C ports was this one from hyperjuice…

That actually looks like a good option, but unfortunately it’s been out of stock for a while with no indication on when it might be available again.

Is anyone aware of any other 5+ port USB C chargers out there?

Couldn't you just use these to convert the USB-A type charging ports to USB-C type?

I mean technically that would make the cables fit, but USB C can deliver more power than USB A, so devices charge faster with a native USB C charger.

They can, but whether they will depends on how much power the multi-port charger itself supplies to each port and of course how fast the devices you're plugging in are capable of charging. But you could still plug the devices you're concerned about possibly charging faster into the 2-3 USB-C ports and use the USB-A ports for the devices that you're not so concerned about charging a bit faster.

Of course you could always buy two chargers as well.

I appreciate your outside the box thinking, but I have enough devices that will charge faster with USB C that 2-3 ports just isn’t enough for my use case. I have considered getting two chargers as well, but that takes away a lot of the convenience and increases the footprint considerably.

Like I said, really what I’m looking for is a single charger with 5-6 USB C ports, but I’m beginning to feel like other than that one hyperjuice product such a thing may not exist yet.

Here's a "stackable" charger by HyperJuice that includes 3 USB-C ports - so you could buy two of these, but they'd attach to each other like one unit:

I saw these as well and that may wind up being my backup plan if I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for. But two devices at $79 each is definitely not a cheap option. It also looks like it will have a pretty big footprint.

The charger you originally linked to isn't exactly small or cheap either, and since that's out of stock, this might be your "cheapest" option, unfortunately. I guess the demand just must not be there for the type of charger you're looking for. Surely manufacturers would be all over it if it were.

It’s definitely not cheap, but it’s still better than $160 for two of those. And it would seem that you’re right about lack of demand, but that surprises me a bit since there are so many options for 5+ port USB A chargers.

Then again, maybe the demand is there and that’s why the only option is sold out.

If anyone else is interested in this, it looks like it’s back in stock at hypershop. You can also use code HYPER10 to save 10% and it qualifies for free shipping. It is worth noting that in the features they say that the QI charger will not work with the AirPods Pro.

came here to make a post about this exact thing. I'm going through my travel kit, prepping for fall and winter travel and realize that my 5 port anker USB A charging block can be replaced with USB C but can't find a similar unit. is there a technical reason for this?

i just want something like this:

but with USB C ports.

I really wish I knew why these don’t exist. There are so many for USB A, but none for USB C. I wound up getting two of the Hyper ultimate chargers that I linked above and I’ve been quite happy with them. They were literally the only option I could find for USB C and I do like the fact that they also have USB A ports, since I’m not 100% USB C yet. Unfortunately it looks like they are out of stock again though. Additionally they are pretty big, so they might not be ideal for travel. You can remove one or both of the QI ‘ears’, but even with the ears removed I think it’s still more than twice the size of the anker charger you linked.

The only explanation for the lack of these devices that I can come up with is that USB C PD can deliver significantly more power than USB A, so maybe they are struggling to be able to provide enough power for 5 USB C ports in a reasonably small form factor. Hyper did it, though, even if it is a bit larger, so clearly it is still technically possible. I’m still hoping that we will see more options in the coming months and years, but for now, Hyper is meeting my need.

If you use 5 devices at the same time, the charging will be slow down a little bit.
Other than that, this is a great choice.

I just received this yesterday
This is my current charger. The big knock against it is every time you connect or disconnect a device, the charger reconfigures it’s power output, which sometimes stops charging one or more devices all together.

Glad I found this thread. Our charging center right now has 6 iPads, 3 iPhones, and 3 apple watches. We’re running a 10 port Anker station and another 6 port Anker station, all USB-A. We have 6 devices that could use USB-C natively but the lack of multiport chargers is really frustrating. Thanks for the links, just wish they’d come down in cost a little bit!
