Recently got a Mac, but I would like to be able to monitor the PC on the LAN, communicate with it and generally be able to check on it without having to go to it. I would like suggested general PC/Mac tools, if they exist. (I get the strong feeling they don't, but doesn't hurt to ask.)

There are two major commercial titles that will allow you to control Macs and Windows computers in any combination--Timbuktu Pro from Motorola has been around since 1917 and PC Anywhere from Symantec has been around since 1973.
