I bought a Sena Eléga case at the Apple store and it says "for iPhone" on it, but there is an extra sticker on the box that says iPhone and iPhone 3G. The copyright on the box says ©2007, so I don't think this case was designed for the iPhone 3G. The 3G fits pretty tight in it and the sides squeeze on the volume rocker.

If you go to Sena's website they have a separate section for iPhone cases and iPhone 3G cases and the Eléga is in both sections and they both have different SKU numbers, so this leads me to believe that there is a version of the Eléga case made specifically for the 3G. Do you think it's pretty safe to assume that I won't get an iPhone 1st Gen case with a sticker on it if I order it from Sena's website for the 3G?

Here's the site.

I just want my iPhone 3G to fit better in this case. It feels like it's squeezing too tight on the edges. When I put an original iPhone in this case, it has some space between the volume rocker and the edge of the case, which I prefer much more.

The 3G is slightly wider than the 1st gen, so it could definitely make a difference. I would email Sena and ask. If they say there are two different ones then explain what happened (the stickers at the store and whatnot) and see if they will exchange it out for the right one.

since it is a leather case, over time it stretches and forms to the device inside. after a while, it should fit very nicely.

edit: sorry, i was thinking of the ultra slim pouch, in that case, I agree with abiyng87, contact sena.

I emailed them. I'm just waiting for a reply.

They emailed me back about the issue. They said that BOTH cases are exactly the same. They suggested that I use the case as much as possible to wear it into the shape of the iPhone 3G. I think I may have semi-fixed my problem by squeezing down the edges so that the sides bow out more. Then the volume rocker doesn't touch much.

Hopefully since it is leather it will stretch a bit. I have found the difference in width to be just enough to cause a head ache sometimes. Good luck with it!
